Professor Sergio Silva started practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu back in 1992 when he was a brown belt in Judo.
The passion of Martial Arts started for the first time when professor Silva was almost 4 years of age and he went to a judo practice in his uncle’s academy in Curitiba,Parana-Brazil.
Dojo Mokayko was lead by professor Si;va’s uncle Edgar Barreto.Professor Barreto was a judo teacher and fighter who believed so much in the art of Judo.
Sergio Silva in the young son of all 2 brothers that he has.His older brother Julio Cesar Linhares e Silva was the most dedicated junior judo athlete back then.Julio used to love to learn the art of fighting.
On saturdays,Julio who was very young and has huge responsibilities. He had the key of the dojo and used to invite his friends from different Martial Arts to come share and learn together the mixing of Martial Arts(MMA).Back then professor Silva was just a fanatic for learning new things.Soccer was into his passion but before getting deep in soccer professor Silva learned few other Martial Arts.Capoeira,Kung Fu,Karate,Judo and even Sumo was some of the things that professor Silva learned in the early ages.
He knew that consistency was something important not only in Judo and Martial Arts in general but overall you must know how important is the consistency in anything you put your life into it.In 1993 Sergio older brother Julio decided to give up his pre school Judo teaching and follow his dreams to be an architect.
In the day that he wasn’t practicing Soccer he was practicing Judo and martial arts with his brother.
