Team Silva Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program started in the year of 1997 back in days in the south of Brazil city name Curitiba.Sergio  had a vision when he started his own practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while holding a brown belt in the art of Judo. Since then a lot of things have changed but not the main concept of our art: TO always thrive to our best not focusing in what does not work in real application. Professor Silva along those years studied several arts at the deep level: Wrestling,Judo,Muay Thai,Boxing and of course the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.In the year that professor relocated him in the  North America  he knew his objective was only one: To help others feel what he was feeling -discovering the World's most powerful Martial Arts. Professor Silva moved to United States back in 1999 while holding a purple belt with several Brazilian National titles. Back then the main idea was to compete and do he's best in international competition but also to spread the word of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to every corner of the planet.

Professor Silva has been in Alameda teaching Brazilian Jiu-JItsu since the year of 2008 for Kids ,Teens ,Women,adults and seniors.We also were a part of the Breaking Barriers program for teaching kids and teens with autism . Have been teaching also few police officers all over the Bay Area.We also have affiliation of our curriculum in El Cerrito Martial Arts Academy( www.elcerritomartialarts.com ) and Inside BJJ academy as well as Black Sheep Judo .
